The New York “Get Acquainted” tour is a five-hour fully guided trip that will show you the sights of Manhattan; from the lights of Times Square, to the serenity of Central Park and ultimately down to the World Trade Center Memorial. On our NYC tour you will discover the richness and diversity of the West Side of Manhattan, and have fun doing it!
We’ll meet in Times Square on the South West side of 45th Street and Broadway to begin our New York tour. (under the Lion King marquee) Your guide will be wearing a bright orange vest. Please be there on time, we leave at 11 AM sharp!
We’ll board our luxury mini-bus and head north through the neighborhood known as Hell’s Kitchen to Central Park, the first stop on our New York tour. No matter what the season, the park is a delight to the senses. We’ll have ample time to explore a small section of a very large park. Next, we’ll head east to Fifth Avenue. Our vehicle will pull up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where we’ll get out and stroll along Fifth Avenue. On our left will be some remarkable mansions from the time of New York’s Gilded Age
Our next stop on our New York tour is Grand Central Terminal, one of the most interesting and beautiful buildings in the world, and also one of the most exciting. We’ll have lunch there, where there is an extensive and diverse food court. After lunch, we’ll head down to Greenwich Village. We’ll stop and stroll through Washington Square Park and over to Macdougal Street. The Village is one of the most interesting neighborhoods on our New York tour and worth coming back to spend more time exploring.
We’ll continue south, passing through Soho, Tribeca and the Financial District. We’ll also view the Wall Street Bull standing defiantly in front of Bowling Green Park. We’ll make our way over to Battery Park City. From there we will continue the tour on foot, crossing West Street to visit and pay our respects at the 9/11 Memorial.
When the weather’s nice, we’ll take a stroll down the Hudson River Esplanade to relax and enjoy views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and New York Harbor. We end our journey by taking you back to our starting point in Times Square via NY’s incredible subway. A trip to the city could hardly be called complete without a ride on the world’s most extensive subway system. At first daunting, but easily tamed, your guide will teach you how to navigate the underground. It is by far the best way to get around town.
